Cookies and Storage
Last updated: 19 August 2026
This website sets no tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising tracker and nothing that follows you around other websites. That is why you were not shown one of those "accept all cookies" pop-ups. There is nothing to ask you about.
The only cookies on this site belong to Stripe, our payment company, and they are only set on the page where you actually pay. They are explained below.
What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a small file a website puts on your device so it can recognise you later. Most websites use them to count visitors or to track what you look at, and often to sell advertising against it.
We do none of that. We wanted a site that simply tells you about the clinic.
The payment cookies
When you go to a page to pay us, that page loads Stripe's secure payment form. Stripe sets two cookies of its own, and it needs them to work:
| Name | Set by | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | Helps Stripe tell a real customer from a fraudster using a stolen card | About one year |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | Keeps track of your payment while you are completing it | About 30 minutes |
Why you are not asked to agree to these. The rules say a website must ask permission for cookies, except for ones that are strictly necessary to do something you have asked it to do. Stopping card fraud while you are paying is exactly that. So these two are allowed without a pop-up, and they are the reason we can keep this site free of one.
They are also only loaded on the payment page. If you are just reading about the clinic, Stripe is never contacted and neither cookie is set. They are not used to advertise to you or to track you anywhere else.
What we do save on your device
Three small pieces of information are saved by your own browser, on your own device. They are not cookies, and none of them are ever sent to us. They exist only so the page behaves sensibly.
| Name | What it holds | Why | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| anwar-assistant-v1 | Your conversation with the chat assistant, and any details you typed into it | So the chat is still there if you scroll away or come back later, and you do not have to start again | Until you clear it |
| anwar-assistant-v1-teaser | A note that the chat bubble has already said hello | So it does not pop up at you twice in the same visit | Until you close the tab |
| A number for the animation | The position of the animation on the page | Left over from the tool the page was built with. It does nothing useful and holds nothing about you | Until you clear it |
Worth knowing: if you type your name, email or phone number into the chat assistant, it is saved on your device in that first item until you clear it. If you are using a shared or public computer, use the start over button in the chat header when you are finished. That wipes it immediately.
How to clear it
- The quick way. Open the chat and press the start over button in its header. That deletes the conversation and anything you typed into it.
- The thorough way. Clear site data for this website in your browser settings. In most browsers you click the padlock or the icon next to the web address, then choose the option about cookies and site data.
- Private browsing. If you use a private or incognito window, everything is discarded automatically when you close it.
Other companies your browser talks to
Only Stripe, and only when you are paying. Everything else, including the lettering, is served from this website itself.
Stripe
On the payment page your browser talks to Stripe so that your card details go straight to them and never through us. Stripe sees your device internet address (IP address) and the two cookies above. On every other page of this site, Stripe is not contacted at all. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
The fonts
Most websites load their lettering from Google Fonts, which means your browser has to ask Google for it, and Google sees your device internet address (IP address) before you have agreed to anything. We deliberately did not do that. The two typefaces used here are stored on our own website, so Google is never contacted and never sees you.
Instagram and TikTok
The icons in the footer are ordinary links. There is no embedded feed and no social tracking button on this site, so nothing is shared with Instagram or TikTok unless you actually click through to them. Once you are on their website, their own rules apply, not ours.
If we ever add analytics
If we later decide to measure how the site is used, we will ask your permission first with a proper choice, and this page will be updated before it happens. We will not turn on tracking quietly.
